Bio

Meet Kelsey. She is a passionate birth worker from Atlanta, GA & born on August 4th. Her interests include music, dancing, online shopping, reading, cooking, working out, and putting together challenging 1000-piece puzzles. She also loves rollerskating, deep cleaning while listening to 90s R&B & finds joy in the small things, like trying on shoes, and cuddling with loved ones.

Her journey into birth work began after the birth of her first born son Kyle, who sadly passed away from RSV at 17 months in 2015. This profound experience ignited a passion that was there all along but this time fueled her pursuit to support other mothers. In May 2020, she welcomed her rainbow baby through a successful home birth during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience further fueled her dedication to birth work, and she pursued certification as a doula during the downtime of quarantine.

After experiencing the joys and challenges of breastfeeding with her second child, Kelsey decided to build on her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics by becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She completed her studies in 2022 and re-entered the workforce after passing the exam, all while helping mothers while running her marathon in life personally. In February 2023, Kelsey made the decision to leave her job to focus on her newest baby full time. The Mother’s Peace, which was founded in 2021, but had put on hold due to life’s challenges.

As a registered dietician, IBCLC, and doula (both birth and postpartum), Kelsey is proud to have assisted over two dozen families in overcoming various challenges. Her ultimate goal is to provide well-rounded, comprehensive care to women of all ethnicities, with a particular focus on supporting women of color. The maternal mortality rate for women of color is the highest, and these women are often the least educated on critical aspects of maternity care. Having once been in that space herself, that passion stems from her own experiences, and she is committed to ensuring that no woman has to endure what many have faced.
